Devotion to Our Lady of Sorrows contemplates the seven sorrows that Mary experienced throughout the life of Jesus — from Simeon's prophecy to the deposition in the tomb. In each of these sorrows, Mary remained faithful, uniting her suffering to that of her Son out of love for humanity.
Carved from beech wood and hand-painted, this sculpture portrays Our Lady with the serenity of one who suffered everything for love and still intercedes for each of us. A devotional piece with real spiritual depth.
